Attached are three pictures of a painting that my grandfather passed down to my mom at somepoint. We really do not know a lot about it but I have included a picture of the painting as well as two attempts to take a picture of the signature. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you.

Interesting. Are you sure it's not a print? It doesn't look to be an original painting.

Maybe it's just the picture.

As for the signature, way too blurry for my eyes to read.

Is there anything written on the back? Often times artists will provide more info on the back, like a lot number, the date it was painted, their name.

It could be a print I really don't know and as for the back it has never been removed from the frame that it is in. The signature is written from top to bottom and does not appear to be english.

Could it possibly be a Japanese signature? The painting has the oriental look to it,especially the buildings.

Yeah I would say it is an oriental signature the character below the squiggly line definitely looks oriental, possibly Japanese not sure.
