She is a 3 1/2 year old cairn terrier. She keeps on whining every time she is away from her basket. But every time she goes in it you can't get her out because she starts barking, she even bit my dad. What is wrong with her?

Cairn Terriers are good family dogs although they can be snappish and somewhat possessive of their food and toys.

At first I thought maybe she's pregnant, but then after reading-up it sounds more like she is becoming the pack leader in your household.

Do you keep her busy? As in training and exercise?
