Hello:
I'm no longer going to refer to him as the dufus. No matter how much I disagree with his policies, I'm liking him as a man a lot more recently.
Vice? Not so much. I wonder what would have happened if Bush wouldn't have given vice so much power. I'll bet things would be a lot different.

As far as I can see, the real problem was that warmongering two-faced Rummsfeld. Bush was weak, and only grew a spine after he had been in the job for a while.

I'll agree Rumbum was a major liability to W. His (W's) inability to work on camera was another.
I also think the rookie that's in office now is going to make W look better and better as time goes on.

I agree with that. I've said for a long time that GW will look better in retrospect than when in office.

Time will tell. The NY Slander certainly won't.

Nothing is going to make Bush look better or justify his actions. A president is responsible for the acts of his administration you can't pass the buck to Cheney or Rummsfeld even though they may have been the power behind the throne and the acts perpetrated during that era. You have to prefer a person like Obama to cowboy joe, stumble bum Bush. He has shown that he takes considered decisions and that has to be worth a lot

I said here previously I liked the fact that the guy was able to laugh at himself. It tells a lot about a man who can laugh at his own expense. I have also been told by a very close friend who had first hand encounters (he was in his security detail through NSW Police) with him that he was always very polite and indeed friendly on his visits down under here.
Other than that he still totally sucks as a Pres and has a lot of blood on his hands for the current messes we find ourselves in.

Well they love the fact that I don't like higher taxes and unwatned government control of the public.
And of course those who don't consider thierself victims don't need a government to save them from anyone.

I admit I'm partial to politicians that actually abide by the rules they were elected under.

G.W is weak and gulible, nothing more. I have no doubt whatsoever that had Barrack been President in2001, Osama's head would currently be on dislpay at the National Museum of Crime and Punishment.
Of course, should Obama deliver this treat, (to be frank, I think he is more committed than Bush EVER was.) He will be denounced as an unconstituinal douche (like Regan).

I have always contended that ,like Truman ,history with the sobering reflection of time ,will look kinder on President Bush than his contemporaries. As is already evident ;the Bush doctrine will survive inter-Presidencies as a template to deal with the war against jihadistan .
Ex ;what brought about this catharsis ? Was it the fact that he has continued to endure the barbs of the new bosses without comment ? Or was it the fact that the President picked him to take a lead role in the Haiti relief ? Imagine that ;the so called bumbler ,bungler ,and incompetent ,leader of the Katrina response was selected to represent the nation by a President of the opposing party to help coordinate the nation's relief effort to Haiti.
[ watch how the world reacts... already al Jazeera is running headlines that we are setting up a "Green Zone " in Haiti for the purpose of occupation.
Who Will Lead Haiti's Security? | CommonDreams.org (http://www.commondreams.org/headline/2010/01/17-6)]
Oh wait ;I get it ,it's because he objected to Rush Limbaugh's over the top comments about President Obama's Haiti response.

Ex ;what brought about this catharsis ?Hello again, tom:
No, I just feel sorry for him, because he IS a nice guy who was weak and let others ruin his presidency. THAT presidency, was, still is, and will ALWAYS be the worst presidency ever.

Excon's thread reminds me of the old saying "A popular politician is someone who has left office years ago." Definitely true with most unpopular presidents.

I'm truly going to relish watching "The One" start taking the same flak Mr. Bush did from the press. It's starting already.

Is it "considered decisions" or the fact that he can't make up his mind?
Although, on consideration, he DID jump on that cop vs professor thing with both feet didn't he?

Obama is also catching flak from the French for "occupying" Haiti (http://www.google.com/hostednews/ukpress/article/ALeqM5iM6oPINGycHaJ-Qx-AXwoPq6_9GA).

Tom I actually picked the Jets to go to the superbowl but that was pending the Ravens beating the Colts. Revis is a monster in the secondary!!

Football is always relevant. It was my fault for suggesting instead of the US military blocking the French and Canadians from landing in Haiti, they should have blocked the Vikings defense.
