I learnt that instead of aid to come to their front that is the haitians it is rather dumbfounding to me that americans are sending troops into haiti so if any one could give me a tangible reason why this is so.

The troops are sent to help locate and rescue people in the rubble. They are best equipped to do this. What did you think they were being sent for. Canadian are also sending troops.
It is manpower pure and simple. The best way to deal with it, is the human element.
Is that tangible reason enough, if not, read the papers, go on line and read the news, then you will know why.

Hey then this is a case of putting square pegs in round holes are there not fire and rescue men to do thus jobs or do the us think there r somee rebels in haiti and instead of food and other physiological needs be sent to those affected rather ammos and more troops r rather sent into haiti. Think again.

They are sent there to assist in keeping order... The medical staff of the troops is sent there to aid in, well, the medical aspect. We are trying to provide food, medical assistance, help decrease crime.
This, In my opinion, was a really silly question.

Hello lil:
The troops are also going to provide security, because you can't help the people when the trucks laden with the supplies they need, are attacked and looted.
Haiti's systems are completely broken down. Somebody has to do this. We're elected. Why is that so? I don't know. We're pretty good people, and when we can help, we DO. That's just who we are.

I believe this question was answered for you already..
Haiti has been hit badly from an earthquake... people are dead and dying, lost and starving...
America along with other countrys have lent their support...
Its all over the news and television!
There is no war,but there is a need for help.

Troops are not only soldiers. There are engineers, rescue specialists, medical specialists etc. Its to support our neighbor.

First, please don't start multiple threads for the same question. I've merged the threads for you.

Fire and rescue people have also volunteered, but such people are not easily spared from their regular jobs. US troops have this training and can be spared, plus its good practical training for them.
And yes, troops are also needed to maintain order. Haiti's own infrastructure has been severally damaged by the disaster.
Finally, do you not realize that Haiti's government welcomes the help? Do you think US troops can set foot on foreign soil without the permission of that government?
You seem to have an agenda here, what is it?

This is uncalled for..
All I see is that you have posted a question and the only follow up comment you make is to insult someone.

After working a 12 hour night shift and coming here to answer questions for free I think I can answer any way I so choose when I'm using toothpicks to keep my eyelids open. At least I know how to spell.

The original poster is either a younger child with little knowledge or as noted most likely a trouble maker starting on US military, who is doing a wonderful job there.
I am closing this, since they have gotten their answer
