Just did an engine swap on my sons 93 Civic a bad engine in the old car. Bought a used engine with about 150K on it, tore it down, new gaskets and threw it back together again using everything other then the intake, exhaust, distributor and wiring harness which where used off the old engine. Swap went fine and the engine turns over, but it will not start.

We tracked this down to no spark from the distributor which was purchased as a refurb about 6 months ago and worked fine in the old engine. I have tried rechecking all the wiring, but I do not see anything off. I ended up taking a break for a few hours and read up on it a bit and decided to swap in another distributor just to give it a shot. Well, that did not work either, still no spark. One thing I did notice is the pgm-if relay keeps clicking quickly when the key is turned. This was not the case earlier.

From what I have read, this is most likely a grounding problem, so I am going to pull the grounds and cleaning everything, reassemble and give it a go again.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks
