My husband was is in the army, and was stationed in panama and married a panamanian girl. He took her to USA and they separated a few years later. My husband has given her multipule copies of the divorce papers and she refuses to believe they are divorced and he remarried. She called him today saying that her mother in Panama received a letter stating that they are still legally married, due to they didn't divorce in Panama. Is this true and how does he fix this?

You say they separated but he gave her copies of the divorce papers. Did he DIVORCE her in the US?

He does not have to divorce her twice, once where they got married and once where they lived.

Is the mother talking about a Church annulment not being granted or something along those lines?

Most countries do have reciprocal arrangements over divorce. So if the divorce was legally obtained in the US it should be recognized in Panama.

What does she want?

She went to jail in Texas and she gave their daughter to his mother. He went and got the daughter from his mother and took his daughter back to Hawaii while she was in jail. He spent a year trying to divorce her and finally got her served. She refused to sign the papers, she thought I she didn't sign them they couldn't get divorced. He has spent almost ten years proving they were divorced. They got married at a chapel in Panama. She has lied and tried to take their daughter, that he has full custody of. She has stated that she would steal her and take her to Panama, so he is afaraid of that.

1. Who is he trying to prove this to ?

2. his ex wife, who gives a fliip if she don't believe it send her a copy of the divorce decree from the court and forget her.

As long as he was a legal resident of that state where the divorce decree was issued, it is a legal divorce in the US, no matter where the marriage took place.
Almost all nations accept the divorce from the US, although not all religious groups in some nations.

So it does not matter what the ex wife thinks, and why is he even talking to her about it.
