I have a 2000 7.3 ford diesel. I am recently having a difficult time starting it... It turns over fine, will sputter and do nothing after that. When I attempt to restart it will do the same thing. I'm going to check the fuel filter but I'm not getting any water indication.
After about 6-8 tries, it started and ran fine.. no hesitation. Any suggestions?

Replace fuel filters every 15,000 miles, including any on the frame near the fuel pump. This link may help:
