After I got a new computer with Vista ,I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 and found no "Outlook Express". ( I did all the necessary compatibility testing and they never mentioned that this was going to be a problem.) So how can I move my old emails from my old computer to the new with windows 7. I am a computer idiot so please make it baby step by baby step ifr you know the answer... do not assume I know anything.

Does your old computer still run? You could back everything up onto an external hard drive and move that to the new computer. Once doen the external can be your recommended backup system which Windows 7 will periodically remind you to have.

I got a new PC that came with Vista but received a free up grade to WIndows 7, which I used. I set up an account in windows "live mail" but I lost all my contacts (have since reentered them all) but have also lost all my old emails that I was saving. I am interested in trying to get some of those back. I still have the old computer.

Go to support.microsoft.com and search on backup Outlook Express or transfer outlook express to Live Mail. You should find articles to help.
