The motor is only making a "humming" sound. I have checked all the obvious stuff, loose connections, power to heat unit, tube to pressure switch, igniter, etc... All seams well. The motor itself will turn smoothly by hand but will not move when unit is turned on. I also have no spark at the igniter. This is a Heil gaspack running on LP.

Jump power tests the draft inducer motor. Also check its capacitor for that little motor if so equipped. Another way to check that motor is to hook your meter to it and when you turn the unit on for heat it should show the proper operating voltage for that motor. If it has voltage going to it but it is not running it is probably defective.

Thank you. I will test for proper voltage and work from there. Are these difficult to change if it is defective? And, are they expensive? This unit is only 5 years old and
I have had to replace the main capacitor and the A/C fan motor about a year ago.

The parts can be expensive but not to difficult to change but follow the directions in the box if it has directions with it. The draft inducer motor might not be available with out the housing and all. In many cases this is better since the blower fan/wheel usually breaks when trying to take it off the motor to replace the motor. Good luck.

238.8 volts going in to motor. Will barely turn, noisily, then stops altogether. Looks like I found the problem (with your help of course).
Thank you again...

Yep looks like the motor is a gonner.
