I had ONE TIME FLING WITH AN OLD GIRL FRIEND. I never heard from her again. She was married and she named the child after her husband, because she feared he would leave her. 25 years later she decides she needs to tell me I have a son. I am being calm about the whole thing at the moment. Do I have any legal obligation to her? Do I have any legal obligation to him? Can I get a paternity test?

Was the child born after they got married or before ?

What state was this in ?

The odds are extremely small that you would have any legal obligation. If her husband acknowledged the child and is on the birth certificate, he is most likely the legal father. And since the child is now an adult there is nothing you would be responsible for.

It depends on where you live in... If you are in Tx or Tn for example you will have to pay back child support till child's birth and /possibly/ a lump sum as emotional damages to the husband. If you are in Ca-do not worry.
