My New Years resolution is to get a six pack. I'm 17 and weigh around 163 pounds. Should I lose weight before I start trying to get a six pack and what are good methods of getting a six pack. I have no equipment, but if I should get some I want the average price and where to get it. Thank you!

Well if you want a sixpack you don't have to lose weight. You want to get in shape. Just get active. Like run, strech, pushup, and situps. So just exercise.

Do you think 163 pounds is overweight for my age?

Not unless you have a very small build.

Bodybuilders have a saying "Six packs are built in the kitchen, not in the gym". That means that you have to have your diet spot on.

Actually, everyone has a six pack, but most of us have a layer of fat hiding them. To show your six pack off, you need to strip off the bodyfat. Generally, cut out all the processed and refined food, and try to stick to things like fish, meat, chicken, eggs, lots and lots and LOTS of green veg like broccoli and spinach, small amounts of dairy, nuts, fruit, wholegrains. No sugar, white flour, pasta or white rice. No processed food, no box breakfast cereals, no ready meals, no special diet foods.
