I had a new Birmingham Gas Boiler installed this summer. Everything is great except for banging heating pipes when the heat first comes up. Once the heat has reached the entire house the banging stops. Banging is especially loud when the heat first comes up which is usually about 5AM. Any Ideas what this may be and how it could be solved.

New boiler is under warranty. I suggest you contact the company that installed your unit for on site help with this problem. Banging pipes can be caused by many different reasons like to small of a expansion tank or partially water logged exp tank, improper venting of the lines, thermal expansion not taken into consideration when installing your new boiler and the list goes on. This is why I recommend you call them since they are a part of the problem and will be a part of your solution.
