In Canada, each province and territory decides the age of majority. Anyone under the age of majority is considered to be a 'minor child'.

While I live in Ontario where that age is 18, in BC, the age is 19.

For a complete list see: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/minors.html

Actually in Ontario you can move out at 16. Leaving after the age of 16, you are not considered a runaway. You may emancipate yourself at 16:)

Really? 16?

What is the name of the Ontario statue that allows this?

How do you know it is 16?
