I don't know that they do, normally they belong first because the family they belonged to were members, after that, others convert because of seroius beliefs in the teachings of that faith

It's the fundamentalist and patriarchal interpretation, not the religion itself, that gives men permission to dominate women. ANY wrong interpretation of ANY religion does this.
