Press and hold the power button down till it turns off, when you turn back on, it has been rebooted.

I bet your friend didn't try a reboot but a restore. They are very different things. A reboot is simply powering your PC off and back on again.

If your friend tried a restore, we need to know exactly what they did. Also, do you have a restore disk?

You may have a Hidden Partition, try F10 at startup. This will restore to new, Anything you added will be lost.
