Hi, We have three baseboard heaters hooked up to one regular thermostat. Last year, it wouldn't shut off so I replaced the thermostat. That worked for a while but once we turn the thermostat up to 21F or a little more, the large baseboard just sits and clicks but will not shut off. I use the breaker on the panel to shut it off, let the system cool and then start all over again. It is a 240 breaker and I have replaced the wall thermostat many times but always we end up back at the same place. Any idea what I can do? Could it be something in the large basboard (it is a double size against our main window)? Thanks! Mark Curtis, Chemainus, BC

Most likely, the thermostat(s) are not load-rated for the total kw of the heaters, and the contacts are pitting & becoming fused together. You may need to find a thermostat with a larger load rating, or split the baseboard heaters among more than one thermostat.
