An actual sewer smell tells us there is a bad trap or connection allowing movement of air out of your drains. If the smell is limited to the sink area then is likely in that drain. If the leak is at or before the trap there would be no smell so the leak should be after the trap. Is this sink vented or does it employ an AAV?

Ok - I definitely do not see an aav vent... - I don't see the other Either - is that possible? - Could it just be behind the Drywall - the pipe takes a sharp right towards - what looks to be the toilet - I can't be sure unless I tear back some Drywall. - my husband says he'll just tear out the sink and replace it - is that necessary? Would it even fix the problem? - I'm sorry I'm not very intelligent when it comes to plumbing.. I just know I want the Smell to go away... I truly appreciate anyway you can steer me!

The first thing you should do is pull the stopper and shine a light down the drain. You will see a small rod down there. Hair can catch and build up on this rod and impede the flow. Take and hook any hair that may be down there. Now, tonight before bed, pour a quart of bleach down the drain and let it set over night. Next morning flush the drain with hot water. Smell better now?
Good luck, Tom

I need a little information. When the smell gets bad take a rod and measure the water in the trap. Let me know to the nearest 1/4 inch Let's check out the deeper trap idea.
Back to you, Tom
