Hi,
Last night I started itching uncontollably. It was all over, especially my hands and feet. I took some Benedryl and applied some Cortizone lotion. It subsided for a few hours during the day but now it is night time and it's back. My hands and feet are the worst! I don't have any obvious rashes or bites and I haven't changed soap, lotion, or laundry detergents recently. I do have a dog but she is on frontline... not sure what this is from. Please help!

You should have a doctor diagnose you.

I recently got the chicken pox and the sores only showed up after I started itching them. It sucked. I guess if you get them for a second time it's called shingles and it's worse.
So hopefully you don't have pox/shingles!

I am a 54 year old woman with similar issues! I've had unexplained burning and itching of my hands and feet for over 2 years and now it can be almost anywhere on my body! My skin has become super sensitive and sometimes I end up with large red lumps and welts if I scratch, like I did my back and arms tonight!! Doctors can't find anything in blood tests and suggest it is hormonal and not to worry, but I am fed up taking antihistamines every 2-3 days.

I am almost certain none of us are suffering a life-threatening illness but I'm sure you are like me, being driven crazy by the itching!!

Could be scabies? Read up on it.

I am a former nurse and worked in a skin diseases ward and I can assure it is NOT scabies!! ;)

I am still of the opinion that it could be hormonal imbalance of some kind as it is intermittent and mostly late in the day or night. NO rash, nothing to see until it itches and I redden my skin from scratching!

Looking at diet and natural supplements now... fingers crossed! :)

I start with itching of my fingers on both hands. I will start scratching in one place on my hand and then it seems to spread to the other fingers. The itching sensation seems to come from within the fingers. I will scratch and rub until the skin blisters and sometimes rub the skin off. My fingers and hands will swell to twice there normal size. After about 20 minutes or so the itching will subside. Then I'm left with swollen, broken, blistered and blood oozing wounds. This does not happen every day. The usual is about every five to seven days between attacks. This has been going on for the past 7 years. Lotions don't seen to help much nor does Benadryl. Any ideas out there ? It also does the same thing on the toes of both of my feet. I've even gone so far as to place ice packs on the afflicted area for some relief.A very minute help. The itching does increase as the heat generated form rubbing increases. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! [email protected]

Johnny, your problem sounds very similar to mine and 4 years down the track from my last post here, I still have no answers! I continue to take Telfast 180 every 3 days or so to give me relief. My itching now seems mostly on my hands along my thumbs and on my feet/ankles and if I didn't take Telfast, I would be scratching myself to pieces! I even drink healthy cold pressed juices daily (love juicing!), take no other medications only natural supplements, and nothing has changed! I think the itching is slowing down and not needing antihistamines daily, but it still frustrates me that no doctor knows what is the cause!

Johnny, I would try something like Telfast 180mg - fexofenadine. It may relieve your itching. Good luck. :)
