Does your electric company participate in the HEAP program? If you qualify, you could receive one month's energy bill payment during the wintertime but you have to fill out a form and send copies of the documentation of your household's income. You need to look into this now. Call up your electric company and see if they have such a program. Most electric companies also have other programs available such as budget billing where you even out your yearly bill into manageable monthly payments.

You also could check with the Salvation Army about having them pay at least one month's worth of your bill.

Hi, piebunn!

Around where I live, we have an organization that helps with things like that. It's called Project Now. It's a community action agency. Project NOW (http://www.projectnow.org/)

Perhaps there might be a similar organization like that around where you are? Your utility companies should be able to tell you if there are.

Thanks!
