My ex-boss keeps emailing me, trying to find out what company I'm now working for. He did NOT want me to leave, and is very vindictive, so I strongly assume his relentless curiosity is not good-natured. How do I handle these emails? Do I not respond, tell him it is none of his business? Problem is, we work in the same industry, so I will be seeing him from time to time.

Any suggestions / advice is greatly appreciated!

Depending on how you feel and your comfortability with the situation- you yourself will need to decide whether the issue should be ignored, or if it's worth addressing. Since you have said that his intentions probably are not good-natured, I would address it. If you must, get a couple friends or co-workers to back you up in case he would get defensive, or in case you have a run-in with him in the future.

I think the best thing is to delete the emails without responding.

If you don't want him to know where you're working then don't tell him.

If you do happen to see him and he asks about the emails, just tell him you received no emails from him - they must be lost somewhere in the ether. Act the innocent. It does happen.

Well first after you gave a 1 or 2 week notice I wonder why they were never told where?

But you don't have to tell them, can I assume your new company did not ask for a reference then?

If there was any way to block the email address, I would do it, also possibly save the emails in case this becomes a serious case of harassment.

In pretty much every email program (Outlook, Gmail, etc.) there is usually a simple way to make it so you never even SEE an email from them.

In Outlook, I just right-click an email and select JUNK EMAIL > ADD SENDER TO BLOCKED SENDERS LIST... and it's done. You'll never even know they've tried to email you again.

In GMAIL, highlight an email from them and select More Actions > FROM: [email protected] > NEXT STEP > [x] Delete It... done.

If you block emails from people and never read nor see them, then there is no harassment... so no need to bother collecting them.

True freedom.
