What makes a refrigerator run continuously and never cycle off. The freezer part anyway. It's a year old Kitchenaid side by side. I have the temp settings at the warmest setting. I can hear the fridge side go off, but not the freezer. The temp in the fridge is below freezing where it should be about 40*. It's making slushy sodas!
I have switched it off and waited 1 min, then tried unplugging 1 min, but comes right back on when really didn't need to because temp is low enough. If a model number is needed I'll get that later. Thanks in advance.

Oh, as far as I know, there have been no power surges lately.

Sounds like a bad thermostat. Or it could be the bulb of the thermostat has fallen out of its place and making the fridge run all of the time.

Where would I look for this thermostat? Today this am it was 28* in the fridge part. I read other posts and cleaned all the coils. Everything looks 100%. So, if I know what to look for it would be big help. Compressor comes on only after warm air has been let in. And that's in nomal spurts. I'm a auto tech so in my thinking, I was thinking of a thermistor.
Side note:
I found the service worksheet attached to the lower grill when pulled out to clean. By the look of it, the FC thermistor is located just next to the bottom freezer bulb. So that answers my question. I was able to look through to the freezer evaperator coils, and see them all iced up. It's suppose to have a warmer for that, eh?
I was also able to pull diagnostic codes. My unit being a 25cf model has either a "01" or "02". 01 being normal, which is what I got.
Anyway, I shut it off for the night. It's already starting to drip I hear, so we'll fire it back up in the early morning and go from there.
If you have anymore tips, throw them my way.
Thanks for the reply.
