I'm 16 and I've been sexually active for about a year now and I am concerned. My boyfriend recently performed oral sex on me... and he told me that the taste is odd... he said it's kind of like a cheesy flavor. I have a strong feeling that's not normal at all. I'm terrified to get tested but I know I should. If you have an Idea can you please help me determine what my problem might be as well as a possible, inexpensive solution would be.
Also I bathe everyday and I shave as well, but my discharge is sometimes a white/yellow thick substance with an odd smell to it. Not quite sure if it's a bad scent or just off a bit. Its not like cottage cheese like most Yeast infections are described as. So I'm not sure. Please help.

Yes, make, you probably have a yeast infection which will have to be cleared up soon if your b/f likes perform oral. Hard to diagnose, of course, but just go see your doctor, get checked out, he will probably prescribe an easy to use prescription. Both of you have to be careful. Your vaginal balance has been upset somehow and you have to set things right again.

Hi since you're a minor we can't really give you any sex tips but what you CAN do is go to your gynecologist for a check up.
Vagina discharge come in many different odors and colors...
I would be specific about the color and smell when visiting the doctor.
Good luck!

This is short and sweet: Vaginal Yeast Infections << Frequently Asked Questions << womenshealth.gov (http://www.womenshealth.gov/FAQ/vaginal-yeast-infections.cfm)
Note that there are concerns, but you don't get yeast infections from sex.
Ask your gynecologist, in general, what you need to do to avoid them. Antibiotic use is a common cause. Keep "down there" clean and dry, but don't overdo the clean and dry. Water is always fine. Sleeping without underwear is beneficial too.
Yeast infections almost always need a little help to get rid of them. Itchy and smelly are two things you don't want.

Yellow discharge and odor means something is wrong. Sadly we cannot give you an accurate diagnosis over the internet and I definitely wouldn't buy the treatment for a yeast infection unless you know for sure that it's a yeast infection.
You really only have one option and that's to see your doctor. If you're sexually active you need to go for yearly visits anyway, so schedule one and then explain what's going on.

You are at the age, esp since you are active with sex that you should be having regular exams.
