I have a Carrier furnace 58PAV070-12 about 15 yrs old. When I turn on the heat, everything seems to try to light the furnace but the ignition coil does NOT glow red. The system tries 3 times and then locks out and then it blinks code 34. Is there some type of reset I am missing? I have unplugged it and started over, the breakers are all on, I have blew out any dust... still no glow. Thanks for your help

Code 34 is ignition failure, usually followed by code 14 - ignition lockout. The operating sequence and code display you observed/described are consistent with ignitor failure. Part# LH33ZS004.

Thank you for your quick response. Is this a part that I can replace myself or do I need to call a repairman?

That depends upon your individual skill level. The part is fragile, so care is required to avoid breakage.
