I have a briggs and stratton 20 HP opposed twin that has a rod that looks like it dissenigrated. I took the other rod off the crank and it has no bearings like found in a car. Does anyone know if STEEL replacement rods and bearings are out there for an aftermarket upgrade to this engine? It is a 460777 I/C Thanks.

Hi,
Cannot say except that you really want steel against steel in that engine. A silicon bronze bearing will work if you can find it. Just be generous with the oil can during reassembly.
Peace,
Clarke
