My husband and I went to the mandatory settlement conference. We settled. My lawyer wants some revisions made to the qdro (which I have never seen) the qdro preparer is not responding to the request for the qdro revisions so that it can be filed and I can collect pension. Can I get the qdro from the preparer and go to the court house and file it myself without the lawyer? I feel as though this is going round and round, and nothing is getting accomplished. The preparer won't talk to me.he says he only deals with the lawyer. Yet he has not responded to four letters sent to him by my attorney. My husbands lawyer is not doing anything. Could it be that because the qdro preparer has not been paid that it is being held up. Thank you confused and frustrated in Calif.

Yes it could very well be that they are holding it ransome. Its really hard to say. The reason they may not be able to talk to you is because they have a signed contract with your lawyer and working with you directly is out of the scope of his / her work.
