Hello Everyone,

Maybe someone has some suggestions as to my problem.

We live in GA, and we have been renting a 2 1/2 ac. Lot for over 20 years, paying rent on time to a landlord that passed away, then the land became the daughters, since then we have had no binding contract for the last 2 to 5 years with the new landlord. We live in a very old trailer that I'm not even sure the county would allow me to move because of it's age and the county statues. If for any reason we were suddenly told we had to move does anyone know what rights we would have? We certainly can't abandon our home that is all we have and may even not be able to move it. Would squatter rights fall into play in this situation? Appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks,
Betty,
Ellabell, GA

No such things as squatters rights anymore. Anyway you were paying rent so you are a squatter. You are considered legally to be a month to month tenant. Either party can terminate the arrangement with a one month notice. #0 days would not be sudden but if you own the trailer you'd have to bear the cost of removing it if the lease ends. Maybe nows a good time to talk about a lease with the new "owner."

Thank You ballengerb1 for your comments, but what would happen if according to county statues the trailer was to old to be moved? What rights would I have then? Help!!

Thanks,

You wouldn't have ANY rights.. If the trailer is too old to move, you'll have to call the junk yard to haul it off, or your landlord will.
