So I had one week this month in which I could tell and feel a bit lighter... my lightest makeup was even a bit dark... and there was a rosy glow to me... like a pinky undertone.. which is new for me.. I always have orangy undertones... well it ended.. and I'm back to normal now and I haven't done anything new yet... I guess It seems that no matter what I am doing, I can't seem to change natural tone... it's like I have super skin or something.. LOL... I can only stop from getting darker, but I can't seeem to lighten... I need results..! Trying to get married.. and dark definitely isn't in with my community...

I just wanted to vent a bit... thanks for listening everyone...

But on a positive note.. I'm waiting for my order from Alldaychemist for my HQ 4 and retin A... I'll try that I stock piled on it.. lol.. I bought like ten tubes of each cause for the shipping, it's not worth it to just buy 2... we'll see how big the tubes are... hopefully this will last for a while... for using it on my whole body...

.. if it doesn't work.. I guess I'll just be burning it up with the mequinol... but I'm scared to death of the mequinol... lol

You'll lighten up with the hq/ra combo but using it on your entire body you will run out quick! The tubes are 20g for the retin A and 30g for the hydroquinone.

Were you using sunblock everyday?
You have to use one in order to keep from re-darkening.

Mequinol is a bad idea!
It can leave your skin with irreversible damage.

Oh wow so that means after all of that I only got like the equivalent or a regular bottle of lotion... lol.. like 12 oz... LOL... oh wel... that's what I get for being too scared to make my own HQ cream... LOL..

Yea I use sunblock.. and nothing changed in my routine... I use the Alpha arbutin and kojic acid soaps for preventing redarkening... I thought the arbutin would lighten considering I'm using a high percentage lotion... with the retin A mixed in... but so far nothing with that maybe arbutin isn't my magic ingredient LOL...

YeaH I don't think I can do the Mequinol (it's just my idle threat I give myself)... I'm way too scared... I'd need a lot more study before that... lol...

Is Meiquinol the same as Monobenzone?

No not the same. Monobenzone is a permanent depigmenting agent that can cause permanent skin bleaching. It is supposed to be used in severe cases of vitiligo to remove residual areas of normal pigmentation.

Mequinol is usually used in combination with tretinoin for the treatment of liver spots or age spots. However it is thought Mequinol used alone and in higher doses can be used for depigmentation

Boricua1,

I know exactly what you are saying. Yes I have my light and darker days and it is so fustrating when you wake up from a light day to BAM , your dark day!! It can be very depressing and maybe as you suggest we have quite resistant skin that likes to fight back. We just have to keep at it, my dear and hope for the good days.LOL
