QUESTION: I have created a music competition show for television and would like McDonalds restaurant to be one of the sponsors. I have been asked by McDonalds general manager to submit to him a proposal. I have NEVER written a proposal and would like to know how to start it; and what it should include? Should I ask for a dollar amount to assist with transportation, lodging, or other means? In return for their sponsorship I am willing to give them product placement in the show. Am I to break-down the dollar amount to show them where the money is going? Also, should I include as an attachement what the show is about, who is involved, and where it will be based? PLEASE, PLEASE, I NEED "ALL" THE HELP I CAN GET. I REALLY APPRECIATE IT... MARC

Congratulations! (I live right down the road from their corporate offices.)

For proposal samples, either Google that term and/or visit your local library for books and worksheets on writing a proposal. I took a course in writing proposals, and it's a very organized outline of what you plan to do. Be sure it's typed up nicely and has no spelling and grammar errors in it.
