Well at my school they pick on me and Im getting fed up. They call me stick, twig, toothpick, and even anorexic! Which Im not I just have a fast metabolism. But when they call me these names it causes me to look in the mirror and call myself ugly. Though the guys say Im cute cause of my height. (5'1) But I don't know? What can I do to make them stop? Even though they may seem like compliments they hurt just as bad as fat jokes. And it truly does hurt. :(

Hi,
This must be very difficult for you. A lot of times people will pick on you because they are jealous. Girls would rather be thin than on the heavy side. High School can be really tough since kids can be cruel. (I'm assuming you are in High School.)
My advice would be to really take a look at what makes you special and unique. What's great about you? You need to build yourself up and focus on what's good rather than what you perceive to be negative.
Do you have friends? If I were you, I would join a club at school. It needs to be something that really interests you and not just what the popular kids are doing. If you are in a group or club, you will be with like-minded kids doing what you love and yourself esteem will improve. Don't be alone. Really make an effort to make friends and improve on those social skills. The more outgoing and involved you are, the less likely you will care about those stupid, jealous comments.
There are lots of websites and books to help you deal with the bullies. Hey, High School doesn't last forever. But while you are there, really try to build yourself up and not tear yourself down. I have to tell you, it's funny that the things that people will criticize in High School become your best features later on. In my circle of friends, they would make fun of my nose. (Some friends right?) I was very thin so I guess my nose looked more prominent. Now I'm always getting compliments on my nose. I hear all the time, "People pay good money to have a nose like that". "I'd kill to have a nose like that." So go figure.
Anyway, those comments never bothered me. I was very involved in sports, clubs, dance, drama etc. I was working on my strengths, having a great time and myself esteem was good so their comments were funny to me. Plus, I thought I looked good. (So did my boyfriend ;))
Try not to take to heart what's said. Get involved and make friends. Focus on your strengths. Have fun. Get a few books on dealing with bullies. I hope this helped!

Most bullies pick on people for one of two reasons;
1. Jealousy.
2. Unhappiness at home and in their lives.
Ignoring it really is the best thing, but it's really hard to do.
Whenever someone says something negative to me I just smile at them and say something like "Oh, isn't it nice that you took the time to make a comment about my weight. I guess you don't have anything better to do, that's so sad. Maybe you'll get a life soon, then you won't have so much time on your hands".
Sarcasm can often be a great way to deter people from picking on you. ;)

There was this girl at my school who was skinny but she was 5'10 and everyone liked her and considered her the most beautiful girl in the whole high school. I was sooooooo jealous, I was only 5'3 then but at least I am 5'5 now hopefully I will continue to grow.
