Hi, I am 24 years of age, my girlfriend is 23 and she is 16 Weeks pregnant. She keeps on having weird moods, how do I cope with my pregnant girlfriend as the boyfriend?

Hi, I have a handful of kids. Pregnancy can be very difficult, whether it's your first or not. Just try and be detached in a loving way.

That means to be there for what she needs (from the store or little favors you can do). It's quite rough for her to have to go through so many physical changes and it will get more difficult as the baby gets bigger inside of her. She has to put a lot of her needs on hold now and can feel trapped in her own body.

It is still an exciting time and the beginning of major adjustments in your sleep schedule and patience after the birth. Just take it day by day and do your best.

Step out for an errand or fresh air when she is overbearing. You don't have to let her hurt you, so don't let her get worked up if she is upset.

Get her as much help as you can now and after the birth. Congratulations!

Well first off congrats! It's a wonderful thing being a parent.

Everything rosemcs said was right on. You need to understand this baby is growing inside her body. She is feeling things she maybe hasn't felt before. She is also scared herself if she is a new parent.

I think one good thing to keep in mind is don't take her actions personally. Just don't do it. Sure she may direct things at you or say things you don't like but considering all the hormones and the changes I am sure in the end she does not mean it. Give her that at least.

As anxious as you are I am sure she is also or more. Its her body. Just go with it and be happy.

The best thing you can do is arm yourself with knowledge.
There are many phases in pregnancy and they each bring a unique set of challenges.
You both have much to learn and it can be a beautiful time of sharing.
I suggest a good book for fathers.
