My fiancee`and I are trying to have a baby. I just recently got off a very heavy and unusually long period. Through out which we had unprotected sex multiple times. Its been a few days since I ended my period. (or as far as I know I ended it) It can be funny sometimes. My period normally lasts only 4 to 5 days. This one lasted a few days over a week. Actually I'm still bleeding, but only slightly.. not enough to put a tampon in. it's a light pinkish color to a brownish color, and I'm still cramping (I normally only cramp the first couple of days). So just want some of your opinions. Is it possible that during the duration of my period that I did indeed become pregnant and the light bleeding I'm experiencing now is implantaion bleeding? Or do you think its just my period finishing up. (remember I said this was an unusually heavy and long period). And just for reference my fiancée is in the navy and is only home for 2 weeks. So all of this has happened within the duration of the past 2 weeks. Just let me know what you think. I've also been feeling a little sick and nausous.. .

It's very unlikely that you're pregnant (I know, not what you want to hear, sorry). 1) it can take healthy, fertile couples up to a year of trying before they actually conceive. 2)you're period is a time in your cycle when you're less likely to become pregnant 3)if you are pregnant, it would be too early for implantation bleeding or any other early pregnancy symptoms.

You can still get pregnant on your period as you could be menstruating at that time.

It is possible for healthy couples to get pregnant after a year of trying but at that point you need to ask the doctor why you aren't pregnant and if infertility is an option. Most couples take anywhere from 3-6 months of trying.

As it goes for me and my last 3 pregnancies I can tell you I knew almost immediately (because I pay attention to my body and was regulated by the birth control) and yes, I became pregnant even taking the birth control! I had implantation bleeding with two of my pregnancies and felt most of the common symptoms.

HOWEVER it may not be pregnancy, it may be the flu, it may be PMS and it may even be stress... all these symptoms can confuse a woman body.

It is possible but it may take some time to show up as hormones take time to build up and show up on the HPT's... you can also request a blood test from your doctor. Ensure that you both are healthy (active and eating healthy), staying away from alcohol, drugs and smoking, both of you should drink plenty of water (rejuvenation) and most importantly that you are on Materna Vitamins (Folic Acid). Don't stop trying to make the baby but it is possible... as is PMS and Stress. You have experienced some symptoms... did you take any tests yet... see with pregnancy and trying to conceive it is difficult to assess conception dates... you may have conceived two weeks ago or yesterday... it really depends on your cycle and your body.
Good luck!
