A religion based on an Atheist but be pretty damn funny.

But then again... I'd like the money, the great attention and devotion.

Haha okay enough poking at religion.. there's no room for atheism on AMHD ;)

What do I do on the weekends? I make dreams come true... I make old ladies blush and young women sweat... I cure multiple diseases while reading the newspaper...

This weekend my college team plays their rival on Saturday, so I plan on being good and inebriated by noon. Some poor decisions could be made this weekend, just saying. What about you cutie? You doing anything?

I was invited to do some hunting, but as a former vegan, I'm just getting used to eating steaks and chicken:eek:

I also don't feel like getting arrested for poaching lol

This weekend is not very planned. Like I said 1200 person town. One bar, which is pretty expensive [7$ a shot! I'd rather go the liquor store and buy meself a big ole bottle and make a bonfire--- hey that's an idea]

Currently I'm listening to Lionel Richie... makes me feel like a cheesy.

All night long! All night!! All night long!! :D Love a little LR!

I am a pretty big fan of buying my alcohol and staying at home as well. Bars just get too expensive, and when I drink, I love doing shots, so the tab goes up quickly. :o A bonfire would be perfect, it's just getting cold here.

Hey. Quick question, how does the wishbone on a turkey thing go?

kctiger
Nov 24, 2009, 01:50 PM
First one to break the wishbone gets the luck that follows it. I think that's how it works. Two people grab their own end of the bone, then start pulling.

adam_89
Nov 24, 2009, 01:56 PM
So isn't it whoever gets the bigger half gets the luck? What if I break it by myself? Can I just make a wish and break it? Haha

kctiger
Nov 24, 2009, 01:57 PM
There are different rules. I haven't done it in awhile. I too thought that if you get the bigger half you make the wish... Been awhile.

No, but I have heard about it. Many, many girls have proclaimed the best part of the movie was a dude taking his shirt off. Clearly that isn't the type of movie I would enjoy. You can say boy or kid, either way. :)

Hey Everyone. How are you?

Just have to rant for a second but My girlfriend is getting on my nerve. Does anyone else ever miss being single? I'm not breaking up with her but Just the thought makes me happy sometimes. When I lived by myself my bills were a lot cheaper. Now she is living with me and my electric doubles and my water bill goes up and things like that. I wasn't ready for it. Now I am a little behind on my bills and will have to figure something out but I just got off the phone with her and she gets to spend her check shopping on Friday. It just doesn't seem fair that I am stuck with all the bills and she gets to live there freely and spend her money on whatever. Argh!!

kctiger
Nov 25, 2009, 07:21 AM
Does she not split the bills with you?

Unknown008
Nov 25, 2009, 07:23 AM
And does she not contribute at least a minimum revenue to the house?

adam_89
Nov 25, 2009, 07:27 AM
Nope she doesn't split the bills. She just does her own thing. I miss being single. I had a minimum on all my bills and I managed just fine and could still do whatever I wanted. Now I am strapped and it blows. I wasn't ready to move her in but I put a lot of thought in to it and decided OK because her step dad kicked her out pretty much. Now things get annoying anymore. Anybody that is single just stay single.

kctiger
Nov 25, 2009, 07:29 AM
I love being single, but, like anything, there is also an upside to having a girlfriend, especially around the holidays.

I think you two really need to work out some sort of arrangement where she pays a weighted portion of the bills (allocated based upon percentage of total income). It just isn't fair Adam, and it puts way too much stress on you. None of my business though.

Unknown008

Thanks Kc. I think I need to talk to her. She either needs to pay at least on bill or something. Or I could make her move out. Then I would have money again. I don't know what that is anymore. I would still date her but just not live with her. She has no idea what the real world is like. No idea what so ever. I know she couldn't make it at all. Take a bifg step into the big world. Buy a house on your own and see how it goes. Haha

88sunflower
Nov 25, 2009, 08:50 AM
Your not complaining adam. I guess you would have just thought she would offer to help. I think its totally fine if you just ask her to help out.

Before I married my husband when we first moved in together, he told me to pay my car payment and the phone bill. He would cover the rest. That was fair since he made 4 times the amount I did then. It worked out well.

adam_89
Nov 25, 2009, 08:54 AM
Well I make about $2000 a month and she makes about $500 something a month. I have about $1600 a month in bills plus gas money or groceries or whatever. All she pays is her own car insurance and her own gas. Hell If She paid the electric bill that would help a lot. I just don't think she knows how to manage money very well. She pays her insurance every 6 months which is about $500 dollars and she has a hard time saving for that. Then When she says she is using her check this week to go shopping it just makes me frustrated!

88sunflower
Nov 25, 2009, 08:57 AM

I am the same way. I used to stress so bad. I did all the bills and banking. My husband just had a debit card and handed me his receipts. I could tell him we are broke and it was a given he would go spend more. Or he would just open the mail and toss the bills about on the table like he didn't care it wasn't his concern. HA! Not any more. We have since done some changes and he pays everything. I pay cable, phone, internet and my Jeep. I cover the daycare cost also. He gets the rest. Which is a good load. But now he sees where I have been coming from for all these years. Even if we don't keep it this way it's a great eye opener for him. When I say we are broke, then we are broke. Simple as that.

If I am lucky all will go well, and she will be like, I didn't think of it like that and we will have our plan. Or it could backfire. The worst case scenerio is that she says no and I kick her out and tell her I can't support her!

Unknown008

You can also tell her that you don't want to have any christmas gift, before your bills problems are fixed and that you're comfortable with the flow of money in and out of the house. Just a suggestion. My mom for example has asked her brothers (who happen to be businessmen who earn... erm... quite a lot) not to give birthday or christmas gifts anymore. That saves some time, the time that we had to choose original gifts every year and extra expenses.

Up to now, it works. After all, we need what we need, the things that people give us are only 'secondary' if we remove the most important part of it, that is the intention behind it. (well, except if that gift comes to be really helpful)

88sunflower

Nope I'm in Canadia ;)

Plus I'm not a holiday person, like really not one at all.

Believe it or not I don't even celebrate Christmas... it's not that I hate it, I just don't feel like breaking the bank lol

I end up buying the presents in Jan when everything is on sale haha I guess I'm cheap like that. Before the holidays it's like with 100$ you get like 4 presents but in Jan you get so many deals!

No worries I still do the turkey thing-- it turns out to be a potluck with my friends & family.

Right now!

I better get dressed. ;)

I'm really mad right now. Work screwed up my cheque and not in my favor. They're around $1000 dollars short, money that I need right now. Money that's already been allocated to things.

I sent them an email, re-sent all my time sheets. That was over 3 hours ago and I haven't heard anything back.

I worked for that money, I shouldn't have to fight for it! :(

Also, I shouldn't have to make sure that they do their jobs correctly. What if I hadn't checked? How often does this get screwed up? Have they screwed me before but I didn't notice because I thought they were competent enough to get it right?

Angry. Really angry! :(

Isn't it a government run place Alty? I would be p*ss*d too.

Something that ticks me off is when you pay all your bills and sometimes you get an extra bill like from a doctor and you know that you paid it but you have to spend a hour on the phone with their billing department to straighten it out. Or like recently, we have maintenance insurance on all of our major appliances. We pay them up for the year and within a month or so we get billed again on each appliance separately ---again spending time on the phone. They say "sorry, we will fix it" each time and boom next month, same thing.

Some times I really believe that they do this on purpose, thinking that maybe 10 to 30% of us will just go ahead an pay it so they can collect more of our money, thinking that well, if they call we will adjust the bill, if not... good for us... bast*rds ! I've even had it happen with utility bills...

Alty

If they'd at least contact me, tell me they're looking into it, then I could relax.

Here's the thing. I expected that paycheque. I worked for it. I worked hard for it. We're on a tight budget, I don't work because I'm a bored housewife, I work because we really need the money.

Because I was expecting to get paid for the hours I worked, we bought some necessary items with hubby's cheque. Items we wouldn't have bought had we known that this would happen. Now, if they don't fix this, we'll be short. Very short. $1000 dollars short.

No, we didn't buy extravagant items. We bought things we'd been putting off, like new boots for Sydney and a winter jacket for Jared. We also bought new socks. Yes, money is tight. Heck, if you have to debate buying toilet paper then you know things are tight. They're tight.

Now I'm in a panic. If this isn't resolved today then it will have to wait until Monday. I didn't plan for this mistake. I shouldn't have to. I worked for the money, I should get the money, or at least get a phone call explaining what the hell happened.

Yes, angry Alty. I only hope I can control my anger when and if they finally contact me.

Sorry for the vent guys. I'm just really upset about this. :(

Makes you mad doesn't it. I've had something similar with my cable bill.

My cable wasn't working. I paid a one time thing when I signed up that covers service calls. Meaning if I have a problem they come fix it for free. So anyway I needed it fixed and they were trying to walk me through it. I said I couldn't find what they were explaining so they said they needed to send an 'expert' out to fix it. So I said OK, when can you have it fixed and they said Saturday. I said OK thanks. They said it would be $50 something to come out and fix it. Then I told them I paid for the service calls. They argued I didn't. So I said well do me a favor and cancell my service. He put me on hold and then came back and said they would have someone out there the next day and fix it for free. What the hell was wrong with doing that to begin with? I got it a day earlier too. Argh!!

If I had the address I'd be there.

I used to do payroll for the company I worked for a long time ago, I always double checked to make sure everything was right.

I know that we're all human, we all make mistakes, but this is unforgivable, more so because they won't contact me.

$1000 is no small change, not to me. We need that money. Christmas is around the corner and right now it's not looking good. I want to give my kids a wonderful Christmas.

Top it off with the fact that hubby is going back to school in January, for two months. That mean unemployment for that time. I was told that the flu campaign would run till March. That would mean that I'd be working until then, helping with the load. Now they're thinking it will end at the end of December.

Do they pay people for donating organs? I have 2 kidneys, I wonder what a kidney is worth?

I'm not kidding! I'm that desperate.

One thing people should know is that you don't mess with peoples money. I got a big lecture about that one time at work. I messed up a report a long time ago and it goes up and up and up through people and someone finallyu caught it thankfully. Well, if it hadn't then goodbye bonus money for somebody and a long line of a$$ chewing followed down the line until it got to me. Haha

This brings customer service into question also Adam, cable companies are notorious for 'games' like this. What has ever happened to good customer service, seems now it is try to scr*w them first.

Is there an address on the check that you did get?

It's deposited directly into my account. I get a pay stub, but no address on it.

I've emailed, I've called (got voice mail) and expressed that this is very urgent and needs to be rectified today.

I hate discussing my finances here. I don't like talking about this at all. Sadly we're barely living pay cheque to pay cheque. If only my sister-in-law would give us our inheritance. She owes us a lot of money, 3 years overdue. :(

I'm sure that I'm getting an ulcer because of all of this.

How about prostitution? Do you think anyone would pay for a slightly older woman with two kids and a husband? ;)
