What gives with wives nowadays. Just because the gutters on the house have been clogged since Moses brought down the tablets is no reason for me to have to clean them in the middle of a Nor'Easter.

Yes, I could have done it four or five times in July and even more times in August, September, October when I was asked to do this work, but it wasn't raining then and there was no need to do the worki!

Now, there is a Nor'Easter pounding the sand out of Virginia Beach and she demands they get cleaned. Doesn't she realize that its raining and very windy. Any guy will tell you its to wet to do this work. Why, I might actually melt!

Oops, I just looked out the window and it looks like the wind and rain have subsided, so they really don't need the work now. I'll just wait for better weather.

Oh, wait, my lady just mentioned that my Autopsy is scheduled for later today if I don't get at least the front of the house done today. Something about getting wet as you go in and out of the door. I tried to explain that once you are outside you will be in a totally wet area so why worry.

I think I have actually dodged the job about as long as I can. Hey, what's that sharp thing in your hand for dearest??

Yes, my Lady, I'm getting the ladder now, :)

Yes, get up on that slippery roof on the worst day of the year. Do you have exceptional insurance? LIFE? Maybe that's what's going on. Is she going to "hold" the ladder for you? You must have that double insurance policy for "accidents".

Well, good knowing you buddy.

Don, the sarcasm font is a little faint here. Maybe you better put it in bold after you get done with the gutters.

JMJoseph - Did you live in the Lexington, KY area?

I was there from 1991 through 2005 and I did Cursillo with a JmJoseph.

Catsmine: Please believe me when I say that there is not one once of sarcasm in my posting. It is a testament to the almost9st magical power that woman possesses.

By the way, The rain held off today until I got the front gutters completed and then it started back up.

How does my lady have such foresight and majesty?

Wet + ladder x height = one bad fall

Are you sure she's not mad at you for something else?:D

Nope. Even though I am indeed Catholic, I have lived in the great state of Georgia for all of my life, and will be buried here. This is truly GOD's country.

And by the way, my name is U.B.Shamus.

Helpful tip: Get the gutter guards. You will never be bothered again by clogged gutters. From both your wife, and Mother Nature.

Well, I survived and I am here to tell you that within a half hour of finishing the front, it started to rain again.

I wonder, if it would have been easier to take care of the gutters any of the 20 or so times I was asked?

At least I didn't hear the, "If you had done this when I asked, you would not have to get it done today."

I despise the, "You were right." phrase.

Well I just drove through Lexington Ky today, went from Atlanta to Mid state Indiana.

But remember wives are like shoes, can be painful at times, but hard to do without

Shamus is right, Don. The gutter guard things really do work. From my end they also keep ants from setting up housekeeping in the gutters and coming into the house.

Fr. Chuck, be very careful as you pass through Lexington on the way home.

Fan excitement is almost at its peak this time of year and it can be very, very infectious.

College hoops are starting up and it is a very somber time in Lex if the UK team does not win as required by State Law.

I tell you the truth, Lexington is the only place I have lived where the Local and National news is driven off the front page in lieu of UK Basketball.

It's a wonderful time to be in Lex. Of course "Derby Week" is just below U.K. Basketball.
