Hello,

I am trying to locate a formula for determining leverage force.
For example:
1) On on end of a see-saw is a weight of 100lbs. How much force would be required to raise the 100lbs when the force is exerted on the opposite end of the see-saw but only half way out the opposite end? (assuming the fulcrum to be centered)

2) If the fulcrum is not centered?

Thank you,

Steve

SF=SF should work, where S is the distance from the fulcrum, and F is the force. For the fulcrum not centered, you would need to know the ratio or the distances.

Use 2nd condition of equilibrium
Torque
