~ someone gave me a stackable kenmore washer/dryer #134234500 0405 are the numbers on it. The dryer will not come on unless the washer is running & ~ don't know why? I can't afford repairs so I am trying to get it going myself. Any advice would be great?

Are the washer and dryer somehow connected? If not, then there may be a problem in the power connection to the two devices. If they are connected somehow (one plugs into another), then you'll have to trace the power through the washer to the dryer. Do you understand electricity enough to trouble-shoot this?
