Good morning

I have a daughter who moved down south from New York state to live with her aunt's family. She is 18 yrs and at the moment not in college. Her mother has filed for more support for my daugther can she do this and what can I do to stop this or make sure this money is used for her ?

Thank you

You need to look at the original support agreement. Generally this is spelled out there. However, NYS law provides for support payments to continue to 21. So you may be required to continue support.

Have you been paying support directly up to now or through an agency? If directly, you can just send the checks to the aunt. If through an agency you can talk to them about sending the checks to the aunt.
