View Full Version : Hole inside toilet bowl - how to fix it?

My cat dropped (yes I am going to blame him) a glass candle holder into the toilet which left a small nickel size hole inside the toilet bowl. It's more near the front of the bowl right at the water line. Now the strange thing is when I flush water comes out of the hole? I thought the inside of the toilet bowl would be hollow (by inside I mean underneath the surface of the bowl -so where I pierced the surface, in the hollow crevace)? Does it normally have water?

I used a product called Amazing Goop to cover the hole. It's suppose to be solid as the ceramic/porcelain material that makes the bowl. So far it has hardened but I am just worried about the water below the surface. Would that cause problems and leakage?

Hi Tahnya...

You should be all set here. The water flows down the flush valve assembly and past the flapper and some water is diverted to the siphon jet, some water is diverted to the rim washing holes and some water is diverted to refill the toilet bowl after the flush.

That water you saw come up is the water for the siphon jet... if the goop hardens you should be all set if you are lucky!
