Hello and Helpppppppppp

My side-by-side Maytag Plus (MSD-2456DE) refrigerator/ freezer is only 6 years old, and just went on the blink.
First I noticed the refrigerator-stopped cooling-at the same time I placed a bottle of water in freezer and next morning it still was not frozen. The freezer is acting like a refrigerator, it will keep frozen food frozen like TV dinners but won't freeze.
I moved my refrigerator items to the freezer and everything is nice and cold but I don't have a clue to what is going on?? Of course silly me does not have a warranty any longer.
Your help will be so appreciated I am hoping my husband will be able to fix it.

PS I do not hear any refrigerator fan but I do hear the freezer fan.

First, move unit out from wall and clean very well the coils and fan area. If that does not take care of the problem, check to make sure it is defrosting properly. Clean very well first and then we can work on other problems if that doesn't take care of it
