I'm trying to find the name of a symbol. It looks like a V with a line in the middle. Around the V is a helix. Kind of like part of an E in script

IF this ¥ is the symbol you're referring to, it stands for Yen.

$ = dollars
¢ = cents
£ = pounds
¥ = Yen

No that's not it :( its more of a V and the line is directly through the middle vertically. Then there is a C that is behind it upside down like a cup turned over, but the ends of the C are looped

This sounds like it could relate to electronics in some way. Volts are represented with a V and Ohms are represented with an omega Ω.

I'm pretty sure it's a dingbat symbol I just can't find it anywhere. I have a pic of it but its not to good. I've seen it in books sometimes at the beginning and end of chapters
