Does the pilot light ignite?

Yes it ignites and runs for a minute... the flame detector light goes out and the motor shuts down

There is a flame sensor that reads if the pilot light is ignited. It might just be dirty. It looks like a small metal probe that should be pointed into the flame. Try cleaning it off.

Where can that be located?

It should be located just above the burner. There should be an access door where you can see in to the burner.

I have a natural gas fired heater so I am not positive.
