It's not you.. Has he seen his doctor about this?
He should see a urologist about this problem. Is he on any meds?

Worry, stress, health issues, and even stress and nerves can cause this issue.
And esp after several failed attempts, they can have more trouble in the next attempts because they are worried

Kim you say he stays hard for the foreplay, does he ever ejaculate during the foreplay part of your sex. Another question, does he loose his erection before he enters you or after he enters you. It is possible that the is a pre-mature ejaculator and you are not noticing that he is having an orgasm. If this is the case there are lots of men loose their erection just seconds after they have an orgasm. I know you love this guy or you would not be with him after three years of this so I suggest that the two of you try many things to try to find out what is happening. Try keeping him hard with your hands, or mouth if you do that, to see just how long he can stay hard. Or get him hard the usual way and as soon as he is have him insert it into you, see how long he stays hard. You may find out that this is a mental thing stemming from something in his past.
