I need to run the waste for my macerator between ceiling and floor. This requires the drilling thru' of joists. How can this be achieved safely.

What size floor joists are we talking about and what size is the discharge line? Tom

Floor joists are six by two and the discharge pipe is 32mm

Is the ceiling open or closed? You will also need to make each hole slightly lower than the previous hole so you maintain a 1/4" pitch

You will need to open the ceiling or the floor, no 2 ways about it. Cutting the holes correctly is only the first trick, installing several sections of PVC glued together one at a time is the next task.

I agree with Ballangerb1. Also, do not notch the joist - drill them. You will have to measure with precision so you don't kill the slope. With 5 1/2" of joist and 1 1/4" pipe - do don't have too much room for error.
How far is this pipe going in that ceiling ?
