I have an amana 80 sse and it does not ignite the gas after the click for starting the gas. There is a second click later and I assume that is the gas being turned off since it didn't ignite. Is there anything that I can check before calling the heating guy?

When the furnace starts you should be able to see a glow from the HSI. See if it glows.
