My central a/c creates water on the floor, where the line comes in from the compressor, when it is on. It does that too on the vents.

It started soon after Bozo (or as he referred to himself: an a/c technician) came to install another (1/2 ton more) compressor. That compressor was doing the same thing and I was told that the air handler was too small (who knows if this is true). The new compressor only half cooled our home. The smaller one did a better job so I told him to put the old one back on. He did but the "sweating" problem only got worse.

I believe that any of you experts in the field out there have seen this problem before.

I would also appreciate suggestions about where to go to seek relief. He charged me a pretty penny and left me with a big problem. I don't know what to do to get a refund. He does side jobs and I'm even wondering now if he has a license, in which case I'm wondering if the police would be my first option. I've never had this happen to me so I'm not sure what to do (besides using my brain the next time).

Sure I have seen it before BUT it can be cause by many different things so there is not just one cure available. A on site visit by a true professional is the only way to get to the actual cause.

The only relief is to take him to small claims court but if he is a dead beat you will never collect the judgement.

The police do not care if he has a license since I know of no police department that is in charge of the HVAC industry or state laws governing them.

The reality of this is that you made a bad choice trying to save money by hiring a person that has no idea what he is doing so much of the blame is on you. Now do the correct thing and get a true professional to visit your home and make the necessary corrections. Then with the professionals invoice/bill take the original repair person to court and use the professionals invoice as proof of your claim. Sorry to hear about your problems but this happens all the time to people.
