Okay you guys, I'm really pissed right now and need to vent my anger. I just got home from my friends house. We had been in town with Rex and then took him in her house to see my friends mom. She loved him. Her mom and her little brother just petted him so much. When I got home I told mom about it and then she told me about something that happened today while I was at school. She said some guy just came to look at my brothers truck and Rex went over andjumper up on the guys truck. I don't know why he did this. He never jumps on vehicles. He is however at some times protective of my mom. But he would never hurt anyone unless if they hurt me or my mom first. Anyway when rex jumped up on his truck, the guy hit him and told him to get down. And that's not the worst thing. Mom never even said anythng. I told her she should have and that no one has the right to even touch my dog. She didn't even care she was mad at the dog for jumping up on his truck. It was bad that he jumped on his truck but that's no excuse for hitting my dog.

I'm pissed  guys at mom and that guy. Rex has been there for me through everything and I can't even protect him, from some stranger... Hell I can't even trust my mom to make sure he's safe...

What do I do.

Train him not to jump into or onto strange vehicles. What if it had been a dognapper?

I don't know what happened catsmine... I mean he NEVER jumps on vehicles. I wasn't there so I only know what my mom is telling me.

I've been teaching him to get up on the steps when a car is running while in our driveway. And if I say ''go up on the step'' he'll listen. So I don't know what happened.

Right now I've cooled down a whole lot. I know I can't change the past but I want to prevent this or anything like this from happening again. But how can I? Like I said this guy just showed up at my house. I'm thinking that maybe putting a no trespassing sign up may help.. but I doubt my mom would let me.

I can only say "practice, practice, practice." The steps when a strange vehicle is near is excellent. I don't know what happened with your mom and the guy so I won't speculate.

It's a tough situation...

I mean I love all animals but if a big husky jumped up on my car I would be pushing him rather hard back to the ground...
You do have to think from the other guys perspective... your dog could have done hundreds of dollars worth of damage to his truck if he had scratched it, not only that but he did not know if your dog was friendly or not.

It sucks, and yes he shouldn't have been on your property but I'm just saying that if a strange dog jumped up near me and my car I would want to make it go away and the first thing that would go through my head is either "What a pushy dog" or "Oh god my paintwork"
