I'm guessing I'm out of luck, and I most likely wouldn't even bother to pursue this if I could, but it is still frustrating.
My ex college roommate was fairly awful, but I guess that has no bearing. Before I knew this about her, we discussed getting a microfridge for our room. Microfridges from the university are a little expensive, and I would have felt bad using the microfridge if I hadn't contributed to the rent, so we split the cost. This means I paid her $112.50. I left after about a week. Now she and her new roommate are using the microfridge on half my money. She barely used it when I was there, and all the soda and water in the fridge were mine, but I shared. When I was leaving, I asked her about the money. She told me that when she got a new roommate, she would have the roommate pay her my half and she'd pay me mine. I texted her today and asked her if she had a roommate yet. When she said she did, I asked if she could send me my half of the microfridge rental money-she never replied. Am I, as I suspect, very lucky if she actually pays me back? Or does she legally owe me the money? I can live with it if I'm not entitled to it..
Thanks.
