What are the New York State Laws pertaining to breaking a lease to buy a house

A lease to BUY a house? I have no idea what you mean.

Is this some sort of rent-to-own, buy as you go house?

Or are you asking about a contract to purchase?

I notice this is posted in Small Claims and not Real Estate so I'm really confused -

So you mean you have a lease on one property and you want out of the lease to buy a different property, right? The easiest way is to pay off the lease or ask to negotiate a price to get out early. The LL or owner does not have to do this since you have a contract for the end of the term, be polite and nice or you could be stuck.

Got it - break this lease to buy that house. Good catch. I was baffled.
