I just changed my head gasket on my 1992 ford thunderbird and when I start the car it runs great, but when I put it into gear it bogs down and doesn't have power. Why is this happening?

Hi! robloc503, and welcome to AMHD :)

You just changed the head gasket...

Are you sure you put all the controls to the carb, back where they belong?

Linkage, sensors, some go only one way even though it looks like they could go either way; vacuum hoses.

This may seem like a strange question being the car is a T-bird.
At least I've never seen a T-bird with standard tranny, but is it an automatic or stick. If auto, did you have to disconnect the throttle control rod that goes from the carb to the tranny? You almost of had to.

Do you have a repair manual?

Did you take pictures before you tore it apart?
