I have a rental house and just had work done in the basement and found out the washer drain was not up to code. How do I put a drain in when the out pipe is above the washer?

I had work done in the basement and found out the washer drain was not up to code.
Please explain. Why wasn't it code? Can you take a picture and show us what you mean? Regards, Tom

It went to the sump pump under the floor and then the sump pumped it out.

Well if the drain is above the washer there ain't no other way to do it. Better question is "Does it work?".

OK! Whadda you want to do? Go for a washer station with a washer box,(see image) or a bare bones installation like this? (see image) With a washer box installation you can install the stand pipe in the wall and drywall it in. With bare-bones everything's out in the open. What's your pleasure? But bear in mind, either way it will have to have a vent installed. Regards, Tom
