Hello everyone,

I am new to the board and would like to officially introduce myself. I will be spending some time lurking and reviewing the threads to avoid asking repetitive questions. I am AA and was born with dark patches that cover 30% of one side of my body. The patches have never been a problem for me until I recently lost a lot of weight and the birth mark is now more visible due to skin shrinkage. I have never lightened before and will diligently research methods. My tone is close to Megan Good’s but the patches are close to Kelly Rolland’s tone. Over all my skin is very pretty and smooth minus the birth mark. I have not consulted a dermatologist as this is not an option for me at the present time. Thanks for reading.

Sorry everyone,

I meant to post this in the introduction section of this forum. I am new to the site and have not learned to navigate.

Thanks

Welcome Egyptsun. So, it is a birthmark that covers a large part of your body, my opinion would be to speak with a dermatologist about it. I have a small birthmark in the middle of my forehead an whenever I have lightened the birthmark stayed the same, but I don't mind it. Try also checking the medical information sites and ask for more info about this:

Hi, egyptsun!

You did fine by posting what you did here because this is the forum topic area that is concerning skin lightening.

If you would like to officially introduce yourself overall to folks on this site, you can do so by clicking on the following link.

Please know that the Introductions forum topic area is where people post introductions and welcomes, but not questions, in general.

Thanks!
